Celebrities Meet for Symposium And Poetry Program
|
 Prominent authors, academics, and critics will come together for a symposium and poetry program devoted to the contemporary poet Fazıl Hüsnü Dağlarca. Organized by the Center for Turkish Literature, the program involves discussion and readings of the poet's work. The event will take place at the university on Thursday April 6, between 10 a.m.-7:20 p.m., at FEASS, C-Block Auditorium.
The keynote speech will be delivered by author and poet Enis Batur. Papers will then be presented by Güven Turan, Orhan Koçak, Dr. Mustafa Şerif Onaran, Konur Ertop, Füsun Akatlı, Ali Cengizkan, Orhan Tekelioğlu, Cengiz Bektaş. The symposium's closing speech will be given by Doğan Hızlan, critic and Hürriyet columnist.
At 6:15 p.m., following the symposium, Dağlarca himself will read some of his poems, talk about his work, and answer questions. In addition, Ayten Gökçer, Cüneyt Gökçer, Rüştü Asyalı, and Berin Ötenel will read selected poems by the poet. Everyone is welcome to attend.
