Polish Solidarity Exhibit Opens at FADA
"Solidarity 1980: 18 Days That Shook the World", a photography exhibit making a world tour, is currently on display at the Bilkent University Art Gallery of FADA from April 20 to 30. The title refers to the peaceful revolution that the Solidarity Movement brought about in Poland in August 1980.

Polish society, which had been living under an imposed, communist regime, proved that a peaceful revolution was an effective weapon against communism, and the foundation for forming a democratic society. The revolution not only changed Poland, but also influenced Eastern Europe and affected international alliances.

The exhibit at Bilkent is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
