Turkic Music Performed On Campus
Musicians and singers performing Turkic music.Bilmed (Bilkent Mezunlar Derneği) invited the Ankara Devlet Türk Dünyası Müzik Topluluğu to perform wonderful traditional Turkic music from Anatolia and Central Asia for the Bilkent University community on Thursday, January 25.

From a wide variety of instruments such as dombra, sim, kopuz, rübab, dutar, and tar, came songs from across the Turkic world. A strong Asian influence could be heard in songs from Kirghizia, Kazakstan and Turkmenistan. Songs from Gagavuz Eli showed the European influence in Turkish music, while familiar songs such as Dağlar Kızı Reyhan represented Anatolia. The richness and diversity of the music was appreciated by all whom attended.
