Have you seen the tree stump lying on the walkway in front of the Main Campus Sports Center, the huge wedding dress hanging from the FADA building, or the fishing net lying across from the Alis Café? These are the final
projects of the three third year students in the Department of Fine Arts. Serhat Tanyolaçar’s tree stump is entitled ‘Yourself’; the wedding dress designed by İlke Yılmaz is entitled ‘Wedding Dress’; and ‘Waiting’ is the title of Aslı C.Yılmazsoy’s fishing net. If you have not run across them yet, there is still time. The projects will be displayed through February for everyone to enjoy.
The ‘Fine Arts Trio’, as they call themselves, prepared final projects for their fall semester course and decided to display them on the grounds of the main campus.
As nature lovers, all three students wanted to exhibit their projects outdoors instead of in their classrooms. Their instructor, Ahmet Najafi Özsalar, agreed that projects do not need to be behind walls or inside boxes. They could be shown freely beyond the walls.
