Since its founding in 1994, the Management and Economics Club (MEC) has grown in number (over 700 members) as well as in its involvement on campus. In addition to the programs it plans for Bilkent, it also represents Bilkent as an active member of UMECS, the Union of Management and Economics Clubs and Societies, which is comprised of seven universities in Turkey. 
Volkan Şen, the current president of MEC, explains that the club plans field trips to companies, organizes and competes in inter-university debate tournaments, invites guest speakers and company representatives to campus, publishes a catalogue with information about various companies and distributes it to students.
For the past two years, MEC has also been instrumental in assisting the CDPC with the Career Fair and Career Days. From contacting companies to assisting representatives during the Fair, MEC club members have contributed a great deal to the career search of Bilkent students.
