The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture has recently announced a change in its entrance requirements for the departments of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (IAED), and Landscape Architecture and Urban Design (LAUD). These two departments will no longer accept students based on a skill test.
Starting in the 2001 Fall Semester, students will have to write the name of the departments on the Tercih Formu (Preference List) after taking the Öğrenci Seçme Sınavı (ÖSS) (National University Entrance Exam). They will then be placed centrally by ÖSYM (Student Placement Center) based on their "Eşit ağırlıklı" (EA) (equally-weighted) scores received from the ÖSS. Thus, students to be admitted to IAED and LAUD will have to compete with their peers across Turkey to receive the highest score. There will be Burslu (scholarship) programs on Tercih Formu for each department, and students can earn full-scholarships if they get placed in the scholarship program.
In order to be accepted into COMD, GRA and FA, students will still have to take the skill test in addition to the ÖSS exam. The minimum equally-weighted score required from the ÖSS before taking the skill test will now be EA-120 instead of EA-105.
