Thanks to the new team of "Bilkent Snow Fighters"; our latest snowfall did not impede traffic movement around the university. Support Services Management planned and implemented a project for removing snow and cleaning the university campuses using Artem’s staff and equipment. The team, consisting of one team leader, two drivers and a staff of ten men used two new Mercedes Unimog 4x4 vehicles and began to clear the roads at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 19. They worked through the night and by 8:30 a.m. the next morning they had cleared the main roads of snow as well as ice! Having cleared the main roads, the team proceeded to clear parking lots, side roads and sidewalks.

The new machinery not only removes snow and ice, but the vehicles can also be converted in the spring to clean and wash the roads. The university community looks forward to a safer winter and to clean roads during the other seasons.
