Write a Story and Win a Laptop!
If you are a creative thinker and a creative writer, now is your chance to shine. All graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit an original short story to Bilkent University’s first Short Story Competition organized by Club Positive and 40 Ambar Edebiyat Kulübü.

The short story, written in Turkish, can be on any subject, but it must be no longer than twelve pages, double-spaced. Three copies of each story must be submitted. One copy with only the story will be submitted to the panel of judges, and two copies containing personal contact information will be submitted to the club leaders. All submissions must be made by April 7 to the Center for Turkish Literature, FHL Building, Room H-353. The short stories will be judged by a jury composed of three Bilkent University faculty and two authors from outside the university. The winners will be announced at the Spring Festival (tentatively scheduled for May 15). The first place winner will receive a new laptop computer which has been donated by Yılmaz Karakoyunlu, a member of Parliament and well-known author. Second Prize is $1000 towards attending a few seminars presented by Academy International as well as a set of books, also from Academy International. The third place winner will also receive $500 towards a seminar presented by Academy International, and the same set of books as the second place winner. In addition, the first 30 students to submit their short stories will receive a book from İmge Kitabevi (Ankuva).

The competition is supported by the Center for Turkish Literature and sponsored by Academy International, İmge Kitabevi, and Zegna.
