Career Fair Company Profiles
Twenty-two major domestic and international companies plan to be on campus Friday to take part in Bilkent's career fair, interviewing students for internships and post-graduation jobs. Below are profiles of some of the companies.

Academy International is the representative in Turkey of Sunley Management Center, a training and consultancy firm affiliated with University College of Northampton in England. It offers training and consultancy services to universities and companies in the private and public sector.


ADECCO, with 5000 branches in 57 countries, is the leading company in personnel services throughout the world. ADECCO transforms patent-holder information technologies such as Xpert, Jobshop, and Connect into power, and through innovative methods generates worldwide response, productivity and quality to its clients.

ADECCO, born of the 1996 merger between Adia established in Switzerland in 1957 and Ecco established in France in 1964, continues to grow rapidly in order to serve better and satisfy more clients all over the world.

ADECCO's mission is to bring the qualified work force together with companies which need such qualified work force. ADECCO is the sector leader in Europe, and is one of the top three companies in the largest market in the sector, namely, the USA.

Alcatel is a telecommunications company with career and training opportunities in Turkey for graduating students.

At the Fair, the Alcatel representative will be talking about the company and introducing its products. Alcatel will also try to connect Bilkent students with its other branches around the globe.

Arthur Andersen is one of the world’s leading providers of professional services with more than 70,000 personnel in 382 locations in 81 countries. It provides services under a number of categories, including insurance and business advisory; contract, finance and accounting; and human capital services. It is important for Arthur Andersen to attend the Career Fair because the talent and skills of the emplotees are the heartbeat of the organization. Therefore, it is committed to hiring and training the best candidates from universities.

Bayındır Holding started its management trainee programs in 1998. With a view to recruiting new graduates from leading universities in Turkey, Bayındır Holding gives two months of training for prospective managers. Bilkent graduates are already working in Bayındır Holding Companies in key managerial positions, and the company looks forward to meeting more Bilkent students of equally high quality.


BAYLAN DANIŞMANLIK

Baylan Kariyer ve İnsan Kaynakları Merkezi (BKIKM) has expanded to serve online and Baylan.com.tr was created. The webpage will be open to people doing a career search as well as to companies looking for well-qualified employees.

The company plans to reach the young population especially in the areas of finance and accounting, information systems, marketing and general management. BKIKM holds a list of local and foreign customers, and aims to be one of the best in its field in the near future. The company looks forward to receiving your CVs and your visit at the Career Fair. Bilintur İncorporation is one of the most rapidly expanding groups within Bilkent Holding Inc., and is mainly active in the hospitality industry. The Bilkent Hotel and Conference Centre in Ankara and the Bilkent Hotel in Kemer provide service with "Bilkent Hotels Hospitality" and "Advanced Understanding of Hotel Management". Bilintur Inc. is on the way to becoming a leading company in the food and beverage sector in Turkey. Other members of Bilintur family include Bilintur Catering Centre, Tepe Fast Food Inc., Alis Inc., and BTA Inc.

The British Council works in more than 109 countries all over the world. Devlet Planlama Teşkilatı (State Planning Organization) was established in September, 1960 in order to contribute to the economic and socio-cultural development of Turkey through the preparation of development plans.

DPT has four main functions:
1) To determine short and long term strategies for Turkey by preparing plans on a yearly and five-year basis;
2) To develop economic, social, and cultural policy proposals;
3) To evaluate investment proposals and provide funding to public sector projects;
4) To facilitate coordination among organizations and sectors within Turkey.

The Turkish Court of Accounts (TCA) was created in 1862. The TCA is responsible for auditing on behalf of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) the revenues, expenditures and property of government offices operated under the general and annexed budgets.

As external auditors of central and local governments it audits some 12,000 public sector accounts. The statutory mandate is to perform compliance audits on the basis of examining 100% of transactions, that is, all vouchers, their supporting documents, journals, ledgers and financial statements.

Tepe Group, established in 1969 by İhsan Doğramacı, provides total service from initial design to turn-key delivery. This approach is the result of the total integration of various companies, such as construction materials, in the Group.

Established in 1951, Unilever Turkey is one of the most prestigious consumer goods producer of our country.

In 1996, UNICA (Unilever Central Asia) was established to develop Unilever brands in the emerging markets of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Turkmenistan, Tadzhikistan, and Uzbekistan, with a population of about 75 million. Unica develops its business in the region through the head office in İstanbul Turkey.

USEH is developing an international network of companies and organizations in order to provide students different programs in Europe, USA and Canada from 2 to 18 months.

T.C. Ziraat Bankası, the largest bank in Turkey, gives importance to management of human resources because the bank considers effective service to be the result of its human resources.

As well as a major increase in banking activities, the Bank is also in the process of carrying out a number of duties that has been assigned to it by the state. Such wide ranging operations can only be carried out with a large number of personnel and thus in 1999, the Bank employed 1.683 new civil servants and 1.282 computer operators in order to meet the needs of branches in regions away from the administrative center.
