This year the World Model United Nations (MUN) will be held at Koç University in İstanbul from March 24 - 28. A group of students from FEASS will be representing Bilkent University as delegates from the Hellenic Republic of Greece.
The World MUN, organized by Harvard University, is hosted each year by a different university. Students from all over the world gather to discuss issues on the current United Nations agenda such as disarmament, human rights and the future of Palestine. The students follow UN procedural rules to conduct the MUN, simulating regular UN sessions. In addition to the simulated sessions, social and cultural events help to integrate the students into this multicultural environment.
Bilkent participants in the World Model UN are Feyza Barutçu (IR/III), Ece Aksoy (IR/V), Kamil Tavas (IR/III), Çolar Sabancı (ECON/II), Barın Kayaoğlu (POLS/IV) Özün Saydan (IR/III), Özüm Alptürk (IR/III) and Onur İşçi (IR/III). Their advisor Yüksel İnan is preparing them for this experience.
