Mr. Tekin Ertan, assistant director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management and the Vocational School of Tourism and Hotel Services, was honored with the Joon S. Moon Distinguished International Alumni Award at the 2001 International Awards Ceremony of Michigan State University (USA) for his professional accomplishments and service to MSU.
Mr. Ertan is a graduate of the School of Hospitality Business of Michigan State University, receiving an MBA degree in 1965. Having served his alma mater as the vice president of the MSU Alumni Association in Turkey, he continues his involvement by regularly organizing and sponsoring forums and informational meetings for Turkish alumni. He is also a member of the MSU Appointed Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of the School of Hospitality Business.
Mr. Ertan served as the president of the Union of the Tourism Employers in Turkey, and as the president of the Association of Tourism Operators of Anatolia.
