Children Enjoy a Holiday at Bilkent
Bilkent University hosted 33 children from Diyarbakır Hani for Children’s Day celebrations from April 21-24. TEGV (Foundation of Volunteers for Turkish Education) selected children between the age of 10-14 to participate in a full schedule of activities.

The children stayed in the dormitories for four days and three nights, and Bilkent provided transportation into and around the city giving the children a chance to tour Ankara. The Sinema Kulübü, and Müzik Kulübü entertained the children with films and concerts, and the Fotoğrafçılık Kulübü took photograps of the activities. At their dinner at the Mozart Café, the children entertained their hosts with poetry and singing.

On April 23rd, Bilkent Özel İlköğretim Okulu students hosted the guest children at the school’s morning ceremony in which they participated with poems and songs. Following that ceremony the children were taken to DOST Kitabevi where the children were each given a book as a Children’s Day present. At DOST Kitabevi they also met Rector Ali Doğramacı, took many photographs, and enjoyed the Rector’s hospitality.

The children left Ankara with unforgettable memories of the CSO Çocuk Bayramı concert, a TEMA presentation, Atakule, Galeria, Gölbaşı tours, a film show, theater, and visits to Anıtkabir and TBMM.
