TRIN Students Take a Closer Look at EU Issues
Fourth year students of the School of Applied Languages, Department of Translation and Interpretation have been conducting research on different aspects of the Turkish candidacy for the European Union for their English-French-Turkish Translation graduation projects. The students visit various government offices, the European Union Commission Office and other institutions to gather information on issues such as Euro-single currency, arbitration, social policy, culture, environment, and external policies.

After their interviews at the various ministries the students then present their topic to the class and lead a discussion of that topic. To complete their projects the students must translate the English and French materials into Turkish.

As an integral part of this project Ms. Nilgün Arsan, Chair of the Department of National Programs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be visiting the School of Applied Languages and giving a lecture about the National Program on
May 10, 2001 at 10 a.m. at the C-Block Auditorium.
