Smart Cards Arriving Soon
Students, who registered this academic year, as well as academic and administrative staff will be receiving their Smart Cards this month. In addition to its use as an ID card, the Smart Card will have many applications around campus.

The Smart Card is a regular card with an integrated circuit having capabilities to store certain information, and add or change information as the needs arise. The most common use for the Smart Card is currently that of a debit card. The Bilkent Smart Card will eventually have that capability once negotiations with a bank have been finalized. In the meantime, the first recipients will be able to use their cards for parking.

In the fall semester all students, faculty, staff and housing residents will receive a Smart Card which can be used for entrance to the sports facilities, dormitories, and parking lots, checking out library books, and making bank transactions. In the future, more applications can be added as needs arise.

For further information about the Smart Card contact Seyit Koçberber at seyit@bilkent.edu.tr.
