Students to Produce Their Own Films
The new TV studio in the Department of Communication and Design has provided students with a high-technology resource and environment. The TV studio will be used by the third and fourth year students who take "Introduction to Video Production" and "Visual Communication Projects" courses for their aesthetic and technical training.

From hanging light fixtures to producing their own films, students will learn various techniques and procedures related to video production: lighting, editing, sound recording, mixing graphics with video, using video in internet/CD-ROMs, and multimedia WEB production. Inside and outside the studio, several teams will be able to work simultaneously, having access to state-of-the-art digital video cameras used by expert media professionals.

Andreas Treske, the instructor for the studio, said, "Students will be able to produce their own films, from promotional to dramatic by using the skills they acquire in the new studio. When they do their internships in various TV station studios, they will have no difficulty in keeping up with the crew."

By the end of the term, it is planned that student productions will be shown to the public. Be sure to watch for the products of all this hard work. Bilkent News will keep you posted.
