Ambassador Dr. Santiago Martinez Caro, Senior Lecturer in International Law, passed away in Spain where he was receiving cancer treatment on May 31, 2001. 
   Dr. Caro was not only a dear and loyal friend to us, but also a great teacher whose valuable contributions to the Department of International Relations will always be remembered. 
   We who worked with him feel his loss more than we can express. We extend our condolences to his wife Dürrin, and his son Andreas Orhan.
