A Message from The Rector

Dear Members of the Bilkent Community,
Many visitors from abroad find it difficult to believe that Bilkent is only fifteen years old. This is a very short time in the life span of a university and what has been achieved in these fifteen years is obvious to everyone, and remarkable. Bilkent alumni today serve as faculty members in leading universities not only of Turkey, but also of the world, and are teaching at institutions such as Carnegie-Mellon, Johns Hopkins, McGill, and Stanford. A large number of them are serving as managers in leading corporations and industries, while many others have started their own enterprises and done extremely well.
Bilkent is still in the making, because the strive towards excellence is a never ending process. As we begin our sixteenth academic year, the Bilkent story is still unfolding, and you are the ones that are making it happen. Your involvement in academic as well as extra-curricular activities will contribute to your own personal development as well as that of the university.
My best wishes are with you.
