Call for Bilkent Volunteers

New and old students are needed to become involved in one of the many community service projects run by the Dean of Students' Office. For the second year now, Bilkent volunteers will have the chance of teaching English to second and third graders at Hasan Tahsin İlköğretim Okulu in Mamak. The project began last year and was a huge success for all those involved.
The elementary students are from a school in Mamak, the project last year involved teaching English as well as enjoying the activity! The teachers will be provided with teaching materials and resources. Volunteers are given the opportunity to help those less fortunate and build up the confidence of the young students.
Transportation to and from the school is provided, the volunteers will also be offered to share a packed lunch along with the students. The co-ordinator of the project is Elizabeth Wadden from BUPS, please contact her directly for more information about the program at ewadden@bups.bilkent.edu.tr. Give your full name, department, telephone number and e-mail address.
The project is expected to resume at the beginning of October.
