Aerobics / Step Anyone?
Aerobics / Step Anyone? The Physical Education and Sports Center has launched a series of aerobics/steps classes, supervised by instructor Filiz Gür. Gür has been working at the Physical Education and Sports Center since 1987 and currently is the coordinator of aerobics/step, swimming, track and field, Turkish folk dancing and ballroom dancing, ice skating and dart activities. The aerobics/step classes provide participants with an opportunity to become more active in the safest, most effective, and most enjoyable way. Regardless of your fitness level, the Physical Education and Sports Center offers courses for everyone 34 hours a week in the Main and new Sports Centers. Every term, 300-350 participants register for the wide selection of available sports courses.
“The Aerobic/Step program aims to improve cardio and circulation systems, muscle firmness and power, and to reduce fat percentage and physical and mental stress. One of the important advantages of Bilkent University is that we are able to follow the latest technology abroad and to offer various options to select from. Tai Box, Fat Loosing, Step, H.A.T etc. are among the programs being offered currently, for both women and men”, says Gür.
Aerobics / Step Anyone? At the beginning of the term, a new class named “Interval Training”, will be offered, which consists of mostly Tai Boxing, aerobics/step and dumbbells. The time and location of this class will be announced at a later date; anyone interested in aerobics/step is welcome to attend.
Registration for aerobics / step classes has already gotten underway. Instructor Filiz Gür hopes that everyone will become involved in the sports programs this spring term. So why not come and join! Stay active and healthy!
