This summer, Nazlı Özlem Özelge, a sophomore at the School of Tourism and Hotel Management was selected to participate in an internship exchange program administrated by the Tourism Ministries of both the Turkish and Greek Governments, in Greece.
Before they left for Greece, Nazlı was selected as the leader of the group of ten Turkish students coming from different universities located in Turkey.
At the Tourism School of Anavyssos outside of Athens, they attended a three week intensive orientation program, including courses focusing on tourism and Greek culture and literature.
As soon as they completed their internship, the students were sent to the Grecotel Elounda Holiday Village located on the island of Crete where they continued their training for another seven weeks.
Being very pleased with the event, Nazlı adds "I was glad to find out that my English and my knowledge on Tourism was substantial compared to that of the other participating Turkish students, and also, I have been proud to hear from the Greek authorities' end, compliments about the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at Bilkent University."
