On Sunday October 7, Bilkent University was pleased to help sponsor the 2001 Kite Festival for physically challenged youth of the Ankara area.
Radio Bilkent and the students of Bilkent University, along with the Ankara Rotary Club, joined together to create a wonderful day of kite flying and activities for needy individuals.
It was an exeptionally, lovely, autumn day with the sun shining and enough wind to fly the kites. The brightly colored kites, along with the sunshine, added to the overall festive atmosphere.
The slogan of the festival which was, “My kite has no handicaps” was supported by the looks of joy and happiness on all participants faces.
