Two Bilkent students from the department of Graphic Design are proud of their work, now that a book featuring their cover-design, was released in London last week.
Aslıhan Özgen and Seçil Orhan were commissioned to design the cover for a new translation of Jean Genet's Complete Poems. Aslıhan and Seçil worked closely with the poet-translators Jeremy Reed and George Messo, who approved their final design in September.
The publisher, Adam McKeown of Intimacy Books, praised the young designers for their “professionalism and creativity”. Mr McKeown explained "It was George Messo who insisted that we try working with the Bilkent students. Now that we have the results,it's clear to me that Aslıhan and Seçil were the perfect choice. Their work was excellent, and all those involved are delighted with the outcome".
   The book is now on sale throughout Great Britain, and copies will also be on loan from the University library.
