Atatürk Commemorated

   November 10, 2001, the 63rd anniversary of the death of Turkey’s beloved Atatürk. On Saturday, a commemoration program was held in Atatürk’s memorium at Bilkent. It began with a moment of silence at 9:05 a.m. at the Bilkent Atatürk Monument. At
9:30 a.m., another moment of silence was observed at the Mithat Çoruh Auditorium followed by the National Anthem and a chamber music concert performed by the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts students. At the Commemoration, Dr. Esat Arslan gave a speech in memory of Atatürk focusing on how his policies and beliefs continue to be relevant in today’s world.
    The ceremony concluded with an opportunity for guests to share their thoughts and feelings over refreshments.Click, to go back to the contents of this issue
