IR Student Awarded Fellowship for Athens 2nd Educational Seminar

   Third year International Relations student Serkan Gürbüz has been awarded a fellowship for admission to the 2001 Athens 2nd Educational Seminar, to be held on November 27 to December 2, in Athens, Greece. He will be one of approximately 40 delegates to attend this seminar. On behalf of the Greek Association of the Atlantic and European Cooperation, Mr. Georgiou congratulated Gürbüz for his success. The seminar will focus on areas of interest such as:
- Political changes and prospects in light of the Summit of NATO leaders in 2002, understood in relation to the enlargement of the Alliance
- Security in the 21st century. New dimensions, new ways of perceiving threats, new types of warfare, and new means of dealing with them
   The seminar will take place in conjunction with the 11th Annual International Zappeion Symposium organized by the Greek Association of the Atlantic and European Cooperation, and held on November 30 - December 1. Mr. Georgios Papandreou (Minister of Foreign Affairs, Greece), Dr. Jamie Shea (Director, Information and Press, NATO) and Mr. Haluk Bayülken (Ambassador, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, President, Atlantic Council of Turkey, former president, ATA) are just a few of the eminent speakers attending the symposium.Click, to go back to the contents of this issue
