TDP Project Seeking Dedicated Volunteers

TEGV Project: TEGV Project is run by Bilkent volunteers in cooperation with TEGV (Foundation of Volunteers for Turkish Education) It includes trips for TEGV students to several museums, organizing contests, and a newspaper project in which poetry and articles by these students are compiled as a newspaper by our volunteers.
LÖSEV (Ankara Foundation of Children with Leukemia) Project: Teaching English to students at the LÖSEV School.
The TDP now has 230 volunteers working in different projects. At least 100 Bilkent students play an active role each week in their particular project. Volunteering can be a very fulfilling activity, especially when you see what kind of a difference your own work makes.
“The TDP Project is Bilkent students’ volunteer project and has been exceptionally successful. We are trying to fully develop their potential. And as volunteers we have a chance to know and experience different lives.”

Sevda Çelik
(Faculty of Education / Master Student)

“After I participated in the Volunteer Education Program, I was fully able to understand what being a volunteer means. I felt the happiness of teaching students and realized that there is a world outside our classrooms.”

Burak Yýlmaz (MATH/II)

“Participating in the TDP Project is the best decision I have made in a long time. I have come to better understand that as volunteers we improve ourselves socially as we help others.”

Emine Küçükbenli (EE/I)
