The Art of Wing Tsun

One of the sports courses that the Physical Education and Sports Center is currently offering, is Wing Tsun, a Southern Chinese Martial Art. Here at Bilkent, students immerse themselves in the reality of this martial art, which requires a self-disciplined mind and body, a willingness to endure tough mental and physical training, and an understanding that martial arts are designed for use in self-defense.
Bilkent's Wing Tsun instructor, Hasan Akżn, has been practicing Wing Tsun since 1993. He believes that "Wing Tsun improves mental discipline and increases self confidence. It also helps people to relax while learning how to defend themselves."
Wing Tsun lessons are held at the Student Dormitories Sports Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. If you are interested call the Physical Education and Sports Center at ext. 1993 or 1325.
