On Thursday, December 20, the Faculty of Humanities and Letters and the Department of Turkish Literature will be holding a ceremony to present awards for outstanding essays written by students in the TURK101–102 course during the 2017–2018 academic year. The event, which will take place in the FEASS C-Block Amphitheater, will begin at 5:45 p.m. and last approximately an hour. All students, faculty and other members of the Bilkent community are welcome to attend.
Turkish (TURK 101–102) is a compulsory course for all Bilkent University undergraduate students. Designed to develop creativity and free thinking in compliance with the rules of Turkish grammar, the course allows students to express their own feelings about books and contemporary cultural and artistic events. Essays written during the previous academic year have been evaluated by a committee, with the most remarkable in terms of authenticity and creativity singled out for recognition at this week’s ceremony.
