The traveling exhibition “Games and Politics,” organized by the Goethe-Institut and the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe in Germany, is currently on display at the CerModern in Ankara, brought here in collaboration with the Bilkent University Department of Communication and Design. Previous venues have been San Francisco, Bucharest, São Paulo and İstanbul.

The intent of the exhibition, which will run through May 18, is to examine “how computer games unfold their political potential in a playful way.” Looking at the “politically ambitious” games of the last 13 years that “regularly reflect or challenge complex social realities” as a new form of artistic expression, the exhibit includes 18 examples of such games, 16 of which visitors can experience actively.
