It has been more than four years now since the Department of Computer Engineering lost a fellow engineer. Hayati Çam obtained his BS and MS degrees from the Department of Computer Engineering in 2005 and 2008. But his life was cut short by a tragic car accident in May 2009, leaving his family and friends devastated.
It was very early for him to leave this world at the age of 26, and his friends wanted his name to live on in a way that would help other computer engineering students achieve their educational goals.
To this end, a memorial scholarship fund was set up in his name.
The Hayati Çam Scholarship is open to all Bilkent Computer Engineering undergraduate students, and the eligibility criteria are based on the need for financial assistance. The scholarship has sponsored 22 students over the past four years.
The application deadline for this academic year is September 27.
