During the weekend of October 13–14, international faculty members welcomed the fall semester with a trip to Burdur and the surrounding area. Located about a five-hour drive to the southwest of Ankara, Burdur is known for the natural beauty of its lakes, as well as the richness of its historic sites.
The group had a chance to visit ancient cities such as Sagalassos and Yalvaç, which have a history dating back millennia and many examples of architecture from the Roman period. In addition to exploring these historic sites, the group also admired the spectacular view of Eğirdir Lake. “With a lucky change in the weather from rain to sunshine, we had a chance to take a boat tour on the lake and also enjoyed the delicious local food and drinks,” noted Berna Örge, the International Center Coordinator.
