Last week, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management celebrated Malaysian culture, with the weekly menu at its practice restaurant, Le Piment Rouge, featuring Malaysian cuisine. To highlight the occasion, on November 27 the department hosted Malaysian Embassy Second Secretary Zufli Che Seman for a visit that included a luncheon at the restaurant.
For the event, students of the department prepared and served examples from Malaysian cuisine under the supervision of chef instructor Elif Denizci and service instructor Ali Ünal. Among the guests at the luncheon were exchange students from Malaysia taking courses from THM and other departments at Bilkent.
During the visit, Mr. Seman and the students made very positive comments about the Malaysian food served to them at Le Piment Rouge. The students also stated that they were enjoying their time at Bilkent and in Turkey. The event provided an opportunity to highlight the collaboration between Bilkent and its partner universities in Malaysia, and the desire on both sides to continue and intensify that collaboration.
