Every year, the Physical Education and Sports Center organizes the “Rector’s Cup” sports tournaments and leagues involving hundreds of students in basketball, football, badminton, and table tennis. The students and staff challenge each other throughout the season by forming teams of friends, or putting together department or faculty teams. In the end, the hard work pays off and the winners receive the “Rector’s Cup” and other awards.
The Squash Tournament was held on Saturday, December 6 with a total of 26 matches being held. The winners of the tournament are as follows:
Men’s (Advanced Level): Peter Stephan, Özgür Kasalı, Kaan Demirağ
Men’s (Intermediate Level): Simon Leech, Onur Sanrı, Onur Sulkalar
Women’s: Zeynep Kocakavak, Hatice Kocakavak, Ebru Gülay
The Table Tennis Tournament took four days to complete, with 38 competitive matches. The winners are as follows:
Men’s: Erbil Küçükahmet (CS/IV), Ali Erel (POLS/II), Can Karabay (ECON/III)
Women’s: Melek Akçil (BF/I), Gül Ezgi Şafak (EE/I), Ayşe Özhan (MBG/I)
