On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Edip Cansever, who passed away 17 years ago, Bilkent University’s Center for Turkish Literature is organizing a symposium to review Cansever’s legacy. At the symposium, to be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, in the C-Block Auditorium, papers interpreting Cansever’s poetry will be presented by Mehmet H. Doğan, Ahmet Oktay, Güven Turan, M. Devrim Dirlikyapan and Ali Serdar. To conclude this event, which is free and open to the public, at 5:30 p.m. Ankara’s poets will read a selection of Cansever’s poems.
