On Stage “Biedermann ve Kundakçılar

Biedermann ve Kundakçılar”, a famous play by the Swiss author Max Frisch, will be presented by Bilkent theater students. Under the General Arts Direction of Prof. Cüneyt Gökçer, Chair of Performing Arts, and directed by George Antadze, the play will be on stage for the next three weeks.
The play seems to describe the problems of today although it was written in 1958. It is a politic fable which tells about the past, reflects today and foresees the future. This dark comedy describes the way disasters in the community arise as a result of a human psychology, that rarely accepts changes in life.
In the play, Mr. Biedermann is a member of the bourgeoisie, someone who only cares about his own life, especially his money. The town in which Mr. Biedermann lives is victimized by arsonists. During the time, Biedermann allows two strangers move into his attic, although they have barrels of oil with them. This model bourgeois chooses to adjust to every situation in order to protect himself. His philosophy is to become an accomplice with wickedness.
Can Atilla, a renowned Turkish musician, composed the music for this play. Get yourself ready to laugh and do not miss this play!
