Serdar Sayan of the Economics Department was named International Alumnus of the Year for 2004 by the Alumni Association at Ohio State University. Dr. Sayan received his award at a ceremony on February 14, 2004. The award recognizes outstanding international alumni of a department in the college “who represent, support and promote the college around the globe in their service to profession, institution and their country.”
Serdar Sayan was nominated for the award by Mario J. Miranda, Professor of Computational Economics and Finance in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental and Development Economics at Ohio State University where Dr. Sayan received his Ph.D. in 1992, and is currently teaching as a Visiting Professor. Sayan was then selected as a recipient of the award for 2004 by a committee made up of nine members of the College Alumni Association.
