Dr. Yıldırım Presented with the Sevcenko Award

Dr. Ayşın Yoltar Yıldırım, an Instructor in the Dept. of Archaeology and the History of Art this past Fall Semester, has been awarded the first Margaret B. Sevcenko Prize by the Historians of Islamic Art, for the best essay written by a young scholar on any aspect of Islamic visual culture.
Her essay, "The Metropolitan Museum of Art's 'Khusraw wa Shirin' (1498-1499): Turning the Pages of an Illustrated Ottoman Manuscript," will be published in "Muqarnas," a leading international journal for Islamic art and architectural studies. Dr. Yoltar Yıldırım received her prize during the 92nd Annual Conference of the College Art Association, held in Seattle, February 18-21.
