Coast to Coast Trek

The 'Coast to Coast' Long Distance Walk, is being currently organized by Ben Coockson of the Department of Archaeology. The walk will take most of the month of June. This sportive low budget 'vacation' starts on the Black Sea coast near Kocaali, near Düzce and ends about 600 km later a few kilometers east of Antalya. On the way some ethno-archaeology will take place while passing the villages and yaylas on the route. Sleeping will take place in tents or the open air, offering a unique experience to those that choose to participate. Beautiful landscapes and places of interest, where one normally never visits, are guaranteed. The average walking distance a day will be about 20 km. For those who are interested, contact B. Claasz Coockson, coockson@bilkent.edu.tr or ext. 2520.
