Racket Tournaments Come to a Close!
|
Last week was quite a week for racket sports fans! The Table Tennis tournament was the first event to take place, as 20 students who signed up to compete in this tournament, began to play their opening games on Wednesday. After a total of 33 matches, the following players made it to the top four spots in their respective categories.
Women:

Men:
1) Erbil Küçükahmet
2) Onur Töreci
3) Şinasi Uluer
4) Yiğit Subaşı
The following racket tournament was Squash and the games took place in the Dormitories Sports Hall on Thursday and Friday evening. Participation of faculty as well as the student body, brought great excitement to the competition as the players tried hard to win 2 sets of 12 points. After 23 entertaining matches, the following names took the first four places in their respective categories:
Women:

2) Ceylan Şimşek
3) Yeşim Balıkçıoğlu
4) Julia Goggin
Men:
1) Zeynek Kocakavak
2) Hüseyin Gümüş
3) Ali İhsan İzbul

Men (Advanced Level):

4) Rizwan Akram
The Tennis tournament was the last of the racket events and it took place on the East Campus outdoor Tennis Courts on Saturday and Sunday. Students and faculty members played a total of 23 matches including the mixed doubles games. The first three finishers in the three different categories are as follows:

Men:

Mixed Doubles:
