The 6th Annual Symposium of the Faculty of Academic English Program will take place July 8 and 9.
Issues to be addressed at this year's Symposium, which is entitled Theory and Practice of Teaching Academic English in Context, are: effective syllabus and course design, classroom methodologies, assessment and feedback, integrating computer technologies into language learning, and critical thinking.
This year’s plenary speakers for the symposium will be: Dr. Alec Fisher, Director of the Center for Research in Critical Thinking at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, John Harbord, Director of the Center for Academic Writing at the Central European University, Budapest, Bob Wilkinson, Teacher at the Maastricht University Language Center, and Dr. Ann Johns, Lecturer in Linguistics and Writing Studies at San Diego State University, California.
