The award is bestowed each year for demonstrating high levels of advancement in the field of consumer research. The conference, held every year in North America, was hosted by Toronto this year on October 9-12. Sandıkçı was recognized in cooperation with Gökçen Coşkuner, a Management Department graduate student who is continuing her Phd studies at Auburn University in the United States. Their paper entitled “New Clothing: Meanings and Practices” was chosen in a highly competitive environment out of 250 submitted papers involved in the Competition. The research paper is a study of the new means of clothing in Turkey and related consumer behavior. The award is considered to be one of the most prestigious presentations among the consumer research field and is for the first time awarded to researchers in Turkey.
