The Bilkent Women’s Basketball team, which is currently composed of mostly new players, had a very good preparation period and all players are enthusiastic about their upcoming tournaments. The team will be part of the Ayva League tournament which will take place between October 20 and December 21, 2003. Participating teams are from Koç Sabancı, Hacettepe, METU, Başkent and Bilkent Universities. Coach Seyfi Savaş suggested this tournament will be a good learning experience for the team in preparation for all of their future competitions.
Coach Savaş also stressed that the most important goal for this semester is to advance to the 1st Division and strengthen Bilkent’s place in the University League. Qualifying matches will begin the week of December 22 and end on December 26.
