First Aid Course

A First-Aid Course jointly organized last year by the Traffic Committee and the Health Center was met with great enthusiasm, and many students and members of staff participated. At the end of the course, feedback sessions were carried out with the participants, where it was decided that these courses should definitely be repeated in the coming years. One other suggestion was that devoting 4 days consecutively to the course was not feasible, as many people may be free during one or two of the days, but may not be able to come on others. Therefore, the first of the courses to be held this year has been arranged in two groups, so as to offer more flexibility to participants.
A short outline of the course is given below:
First Day: The structure and functions of the human body, evaluation of the circumstances at the accident location, handling the patient, controlling bleeding and First Aid in case of shock
Second Day: The ABCs of First Aid, pulmonary resuscitation, cardiac resuscitation and applications
Third Day: Fractures, dislocations, distortions, bandaging and splinting
Fourth Day: Intoxication, drowning, heat strokes, burns, freezing, electric shock, detachment of limbs, chest and eye injuries
The schedule is as follows:
Session 1: November 3-5-10-12 , 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Session 2: November 4-6-11-13, 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Location: Main Campus Library B Block, Room ICC-B005
