"FROM THE STUDENT COUNCIL"

New Bilkenters!

On behalf of the Student Council, I would like to congratulate all of you and extend a very warm welcome to Bilkent University. My colleagues on the council and I are very happy to see you at Bilkent, in a spectacular and fascinating learning environment. Now that you have arrived at Bilkent, we would like to ask you become an enthusiastic member of this community; we ask you to take advantage of this opportunity. Now that you have earned the right to be a part of an elite group of students after a very competitive year, it is time to sharpen your minds, discover new interests, try on new ideas and feel the spirit of Bilkent University.

We know you have many questions in mind; it is very natural to be anxious and to have mixed emotions about leaving home or embarking on your new life at Bilkent. As members of the Student Council, we hope we can help you to put your mind at ease and to explore new possibilities. Bilkent University offers its students an extensive range of social activities in addition to the challenging courses and excellent academic units that include many members who are known as specialists in their fields. In view of the fact that it is very important to ensure your social as well as your academic well-being, your time spent here will be all the more enjoyable if you take time out to participate in all that our Student Council offers you. The Student Council has many different student clubs in a wide range of interest areas as well as social activities lined up for you throughout the year. Our members are always here to answer your questions about student life, student clubs and student activities at Bilkent.

Attending university is an exhilarating time of your life -- your life, which will completely change in a wonderful way at Bilkent University. Don't miss out on it! Best wishes...
