Prof. Orhan Güvenen Nominated a Candidate for ISI President

Prof. Güvenen's background and accomplishments include his work as the President of the Turkish National Statistics Institute(1988-1994) his receipt of the ISI's "Adolphe Quetelet" award, Member of the ISI Council (1994-1999) and his role in organizing two world conferences: the World Conference of the ISI International Association for Official Statistics which took place in Ankara in 1991, and the World Conference of the ISI in İstanbul in 1997.

In addition, he has contributed to the development of official statistical methodology as a member of the European Statisticians Conference executive board. The ISI has over 3,000 members. Candidates for the presidency and other elective offices are chosen by the organization's nominating committee.
