 ESTIEM
(European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) is a Europe-wide
industrial engineering student organization with representation at 66
universities in 23 countries. Bilkent is one of these universities, and
is represented in the organization by the Operational Research Club.
ESTIEM holds council
meetings twice a year. At the last meeting, hosted by "Kaiserslautern to
Karlsruhe" in Germany two weeks ago, Bilkent had six delegates present,
and also applied to organize next fall's meeting. The request was
approved, receiving 50 out of 55 votes. This means that in November
2006, nearly 180 industrial engineering students from all over Europe
will come to our campus for the ESTIEM council meeting. The event will
be organized by the Operational Research Club.
