“Takim Böyle Tutulur” Documents Football Fans’ Devotion

Communication and Design Department assistant professor Andreas Treske
has completed a documentary that's certain to attract attention in this football-loving country of ours. On November 25 "Takım Böyle Tutulur," for which he served as both director and editor, began showing in cinemas all over Turkey. The subject of thedocumentary is football, and especially Fenerbahçe fans. The film is not about hooligans or violence in football. It is, rather, about supporting a team and being devoted to
football as a way of life. It documents the love of football and the enthusiasm of Fenerbahçe fans in particular, the excitement in the stands and the happiness of winning a match.

Bilkent News talked with Treske to learn more about the background of "Takım Böyle Tutulur," as well as the way he balances the roles of director and teacher in his own life. (Continued)
