The studio, named in memory of former Bilkent DJ Orçun Gül, has a special
feature: a glass wall that allows Bilkent students to watch the DJs at work. In addition,
anyone who wants to can make a song request to the station's public relations department
in front of the studio, and then go into the Kıraç Restaurant and listen to their
request being played. The new studio is truly an interactive space, bringing Radio Bilkent
and its audience together as never before.
Radio Bilkent will broadcast from the Orçun Gül Studio every weekday from noon to 2
p.m., giving everyone on campus the opportunity to enjoy the lunchtime break by listening
to the live programs. During the semester, well-known guests will also visit the studio.
Members of the Radio Bilkent family were pleased to see so many students on hand for their
first broadcast last Wednesday. One of the station's DJs, Can Sözer, told the Bilkent
News that he's very proud to work in the new studio. He noted that it's a great experience
to broadcast in a place where everyone can see you, instead of standing in a dark room.
Another DJ, Mustafacan Doğan, said that it was especially meaningful for him to work in a
studio named after Orçun Gül, because Orçun had trained him as a DJ.
Congratulations to Radio Bilkent on this huge step in advancing the art of broadcasting at
Bilkent University!
