You may have heard of the “Three Tenors” concerts featuring the famous
opera singers Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. Now, Turkey has its
own three tenors, and they'll be giving a concert at Bilkent this weekend.
Organized by Bilkent University, the Anadolu Çağdaş Egitim Vakfi (ANÇEV) and the Sanat
Akademi, the “Three Tenors Concert” will be held on Saturday, September 24
at the Bilkent Odeon at 8:30 p.m.
State Opera and Ballet soloists İhsan Ekber, Ömer Yılmaz and Şenol Tanıllı will
perform with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra conducted by Rengim Gökmen.
The program will feature arias from operas by Donizetti, Puccini, Verdi, Massanet, Amirov
and Selman Ada, as well as Neapolitan songs.
