Prof. Erhan Erkut is the new Dean
of the Faculty of Business Administration. Prior to his appointment at Bilkent, Prof.
Erkut spent 20 years at the University of Alberta School of Business. He has also held
visiting appointments at the University of Geneva, Ohio State University, NIDA (Thailand),
Boğaziçi University and Sabancı University.
Prof. Erkut performs editorial responsibilities for several journals in his field. At the
University of Alberta, he served as Director of the Centre for Excellence in Operations,
in which capacity he managed major applied research partnerships with other organizations.
He has received a number of teaching awards at the faculty, university, and national
levels.
Prof. Erkut has taken over the position of dean from Prof. Dilek Önkal, who ably steered
the Faculty during its year of transition. Prof. Önkal came to Bilkent in 1988, and
served as acting dean for the 2004-2005 academic year.
