Bilkent Psychology Club “For the Scientific Understanding of Psychology”

One of Bilkent's newest clubs, The Bilkent Psychology Club has launched its activities after their first new-member meeting on February 23. Their primary aim is to help people understand what psychology is from a scientific perspective and to improve the scientific understanding of everyday problems.

To reach this aim, the club is organizing a number of activities. First, the club is hosting a monthly film screening of films that have psychological themes in them. The first film, Identity, about a man with multiple personalities, was shown on March 5. To see the schedule of upcoming films, visit the club's web site:

The club will also host a seminar series on different issues in psychology featuring faculty in the department including Asst. Prof. Peter James Lee and Asst. Prof. Emre Özgen, chair of the department. Another lecture will feature Dr. David Olson, a well-known professor in the area of psychology and cognitive science, who is a Visiting Lecturer this semester from the University of Toronto. The opening of a psychology exhibition that will continue for one week will follow the seminar series. The Psychology club also plans to connect with psychology departments at other Ankara universities for further collaboration and sharing.

If you are interested in psychology, or the club and its activities in general, email the club at: psykent@ug.bilkent.edu.tr  or visit their web site: http://ug.bcc.bilkent.edu.tr/~psykent/index.html
